Do you deliver to my area?

Order now or WhatsApp us to check delivery times for your postcode.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery is 1 to 2 working days after you order. Delivery is free, except London, Scotland and Wales, where it is £20 per item.
If you order before 7 in the evening, you may qualify for next-day delivery in selected areas. Message us on WhatsApp with your postcode and we will give you an honest estimate before you order.
Can I get next-day delivery?
Yes, in selected areas — if you order before 7 in the evening. Message us on WhatsApp with your postcode and we will tell you straight away whether next-day delivery is available for you.
How much does delivery cost?
Nothing for most of the United Kingdom: delivery is free on every order, whatever you buy. The only exceptions are London, Scotland and Wales, where delivery is £20 per item.
Do I need to be at home for delivery?
Yes, please make sure someone over 18 is at home to receive the order and check it with the courier.
Paying
What does "pay on delivery" mean?
It means you do not pay anything upfront. We bring your furniture to your home. You look at it, touch it, check that everything you ordered is there — and only then you pay cash to the courier. You never enter card details online and you never pay before you have seen your order.
No deposit. If something is wrong, you do not pay.
Order with pay on delivery. Questions? WhatsApp us.
Can I pay by card or bank transfer?
Our standard way is cash on delivery. If you would prefer another way to pay, message us on WhatsApp on +44 7882 500660 before you order and we will do our best to help.
Assembly
Are your beds easy to assemble?
Yes. Beds arrive in flat, easy-to-carry parts so they fit through doors and up stairs, with clear step-by-step instructions and all fixings included. Most customers assemble a divan bed in 20 to 30 minutes with just a screwdriver and no special tools. Ottoman beds take a little longer because of the gas lift mechanism — about 45 minutes.
If you get stuck, message us on WhatsApp and we will talk you through it.
Do you offer an assembly service?
Message us on WhatsApp when you order and tell us what you need. We will always try to help.
Returns
What is your returns policy?
Because we offer pay on delivery, you check the furniture before you pay — if it is not what you expected, you do not have to accept it or pay for it.
After delivery, you have 14 days to change your mind. The item must be unused and in its original condition. Return delivery is paid by the customer. To start a return, message us on WhatsApp or email kensleyhome.uk@gmail.com.
What if my item arrives damaged or faulty?
Take a photo straight away and send it to us on WhatsApp on +44 7882 500660. We will put it right — either with a replacement part, a replacement item, or a refund where that is the fair outcome.
Sizes
What bed sizes do you sell?
Single 3ft (90 × 190 cm), small double 4ft (120 × 190 cm), double 4ft 6in (135 × 190 cm), king size 5ft (150 × 200 cm) and super king 6ft (180 × 200 cm).
How do I measure my room for a new bed?
You need three measurements:
1. Floor space — length and width of where the bed will go. Leave at least 60 cm of walking space around the sides you need to walk past. 2. Doorways and stairs — the narrowest point the bed must travel through on delivery day. 3. Headboard wall — check for radiators, plug sockets, or windows behind where the headboard will sit.
Write the numbers down and send them to us on WhatsApp. If you are between sizes, we will advise honestly — even if the honest answer is the smaller bed.
What size mattress fits a double bed?
A United Kingdom double bed takes a mattress measuring 135 cm wide by 190 cm long (4 foot 6 inches by 6 foot 3 inches). This is the standard size — if you buy a mattress labelled "double" from any United Kingdom seller, it will fit a standard United Kingdom double bed frame or divan base.
If your bed is from outside the United Kingdom, measure the base first. A European double can be 140 or 160 cm wide, which needs a different mattress.
Browse our double mattresses — or message us on WhatsApp and we will help you get the size right.
What size mattress fits a king size bed?
A United Kingdom king size bed takes a mattress measuring 150 cm wide by 200 cm long (5 foot by 6 foot 6 inches). Do not confuse it with a European king, which is usually 160 or 180 cm wide.
Quick way to check: measure your bed base across the width. If it is about 150 cm, you need a United Kingdom king size mattress.

What size mattress fits a single bed?
A United Kingdom single bed takes a mattress measuring 90 cm wide by 190 cm long (3 foot by 6 foot 3 inches). A small single is narrower at 75 cm wide — check which one you have by measuring the base.
Shop single mattresses — or ask us on WhatsApp.
What are the standard UK bed and mattress sizes?
United Kingdom bed sizes, width by length:
- Small single: 75 cm × 190 cm (2 foot 6 × 6 foot 3)
- Single: 90 cm × 190 cm (3 foot × 6 foot 3)
- Small double: 120 cm × 190 cm (4 foot × 6 foot 3)
- Double: 135 cm × 190 cm (4 foot 6 × 6 foot 3)
- King: 150 cm × 200 cm (5 foot × 6 foot 6)
- Super king: 180 cm × 200 cm (6 foot × 6 foot 6)
The mattress and the bed base must match. When in doubt, measure your base — it takes 30 seconds with a tape measure.

Divan beds versus ottoman beds
What is the difference between a divan bed and an ottoman bed?
A divan bed is a fabric-covered base with pull-out drawers in its sides — best for things you need every week, like clothes and spare sheets. An ottoman bed looks the same from the outside, but the whole sleeping surface lifts up on gas pistons (spring-loaded arms, like a car boot that holds itself open) to reveal one huge storage space underneath.
Divan bed or ottoman bed — which is better for storage?
It depends how much storage you need.
A divan bed with drawers gives you 2 or 4 drawers — good for clothes, bedding, shoes. You can only open one drawer at a time, and you need space beside the bed to pull them out.
An ottoman bed lifts the whole mattress up on gas pistons, giving you the entire space under the bed — about four times more storage than drawers. Better for bulky items like suitcases, winter duvets, or boxes. You do need to lift the mattress (the gas lift does most of the work).
For maximum storage in a small room: ottoman. For everyday easy access: drawers.

What is the difference between a divan bed and a bed frame?
A divan bed is a fabric-covered base (usually with storage drawers or an ottoman lift) plus a headboard. The mattress sits directly on the base. Divans look neat and upholstered, and the base itself gives you storage.
A bed frame is the open structure — headboard, footboard, and side rails — that holds the mattress. Frames come in wood, metal, or upholstered styles. Most frames have little or no built-in storage (though ottoman frames exist).
Choose a divan for storage and a tidy look. Choose a frame for style and design.

Do ottoman beds come with a mattress?
It depends on the package you choose. Our ottoman beds are sold as:
- Base only — just the ottoman storage base, use your own mattress
- With mattress — base plus a quality mattress included
Buying them together is cheaper than buying separately, and we make sure the mattress fits the base perfectly.
See ottoman bed packages — or message us and we will recommend the right package.
What colours do divan beds come in?
Our divan beds come in 16 colours — greys, blacks, browns, creams, blues, and plush velvet finishes. The exact shades are shown on each product page.
Because screens show colours differently, if you are unsure, message us on WhatsApp and we will describe the shades honestly or send you a closer photo.
Is a single ottoman bed big enough for an adult?
Yes. A United Kingdom single ottoman bed is 90 cm wide by 190 cm long — the same sleeping area as any single bed. It comfortably fits one adult.
The ottoman storage underneath is the real win: the whole under-bed space opens up, which is ideal for a spare room, a teenager's room, or a small flat where every bit of storage counts.

Is a king size ottoman bed worth it?
If you have the room, yes. A king size ottoman bed is 150 cm wide by 200 cm long — roomy for two adults — and the ottoman storage underneath is enormous. You get the biggest bed size plus the biggest storage in one piece of furniture.
It suits master bedrooms where you want both comfort and somewhere to hide winter duvets, suitcases, and boxes. If your room is under 12 foot wide, measure carefully — a king needs space around it.
Our king size ottoman beds are also available with a mattress included — buying the package together saves money and guarantees the fit.

Small double ottoman bed — who is it actually for?
A small double ottoman bed (120 cm wide by 190 cm long) is the in-between size — wider than a single, narrower than a double. It is ideal for:
- Teenagers who have outgrown a single bed
- Single adults who like extra sleeping space
- Guest rooms where a double would dominate the room
- Box rooms where every centimetre counts
You still get the full ottoman storage underneath, so it is a smart pick for smaller bedrooms.

How big is a king size divan bed?
A king size divan bed measures 150 cm wide by 200 cm long (5 foot by 6 foot 6 inches). With the headboard, allow about 215 cm of wall length. Leave at least 60 cm on each side you need to walk past — so the room should be roughly 270 cm wide minimum.
King size divans are popular because you get the big sleeping area plus drawer or ottoman storage in the base — no wasted space.

Mattresses
What is a pocket sprung mattress?
A mattress where each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and moves on its own. That means when your partner turns over, you feel it less. Pocket sprung mattresses are the most popular choice in the United Kingdom for couples.
What is a memory foam mattress?
A mattress made from a special foam that softens with your body heat and moulds around your shape, spreading your weight evenly. Many people with achy joints find it comfortable.
What is an orthopaedic mattress?
A firmer mattress designed to keep your back straight while you sleep. If you wake up stiff or your doctor has mentioned back support, an orthopaedic or firm pocket sprung mattress is usually the right direction.
Which firmness should I choose?
As a rough guide: side sleepers usually suit medium or medium-soft, back sleepers suit medium-firm, and front sleepers suit firmer. If you are heavier, go one step firmer than the guide suggests. If you are still unsure, message us your sleeping position on WhatsApp and we will recommend honestly.
Pocket sprung or memory foam — which mattress is better?
Neither is "better" — they suit different sleepers.
Pocket sprung mattresses have individual springs in fabric pockets. They feel bouncy, sleep cooler, and are good if you move around a lot or sleep hot. Our guide explains firmness levels.
Memory foam moulds to your body shape. It feels hugging and still — good for joint pain or if your partner moves and wakes you up. It can sleep warmer.
Many people choose a hybrid (springs plus a foam layer) to get both.

Sofa beds
What is a sofa bed with storage and is it comfortable?
A sofa bed with storage is a sofa that converts into a bed for guests, with a hidden storage compartment underneath the seat — for bedding, pillows, or blankets.
Ours are proper sofa beds, not thin fold-outs. They use real sofa cushions and a proper sleeping surface, so guests sleep comfortably, not on bars and springs.
Browse sofa beds with storage. Want advice? WhatsApp us.
Will a corner sofa bed fit through my door?
Measure your narrowest doorway and hallway before ordering. Our corner sofa beds come in sections that fit through standard United Kingdom doorways (about 76 cm wide), but very narrow hallways or tight turns can be a problem.
Send us your measurements on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether it will fit — we would rather lose a sale than deliver a sofa that cannot get in.
What is a chesterfield sofa bed?
A chesterfield sofa bed combines the classic chesterfield look — deep buttoned back, rolled arms, luxurious fabric — with a proper pull-out bed for guests. It looks like a high-end sofa by day and sleeps one or two people by night.
Ours are built for real sleeping, not just occasional naps: a proper mattress section, not thin foam over bars.
